1. Who we are.
Vauti is a savings tracking app run by Vauti Limited [registration number, when registered]. Contact: support@vauti.co.tz, WhatsApp +255779122997.
2. What we collect.
Your name, phone number, and optional email. We record whether your phone number is verified and when verification succeeds. During sign up, login verification, and PIN reset, your phone number and one-time message are sent to SwalaSMS to deliver verification codes. We may also send occasional Vauti tips and service announcements through SwalaSMS to active users with verified phone numbers. Your account number, derived from your normalized phone number, is used so other Vauti users can find you to invite you; it is not a secret and is never used to log in or verify your identity. Your profile photo, if you add one. Your savings entries: goals, deposits, withdrawals, and notes. Group goal details: membership, contributions, and activity. Bill records include names, amounts, recurrence, due dates, reminder preferences, linked goal references, and payment history. Your device notification token, app version, and basic crash data. Your referral code and referral activity.
3. Why we use it.
To create your account and run the app. To send reminders and notifications you have turned on. If you opt in, to send a monthly savings summary to your verified email address; you can unsubscribe at any time. To show group progress to the members of your group. To give support and improve the app. To prevent fraud and abuse.
4. Who can see your data.
Other Vauti users can look up your Vauti account number to invite you to a group goal. Members of shared goals can see your Vauti account number and your contributions. Service providers process data for us: Supabase (database), Firebase (notifications), Railway and Vercel (hosting), and our SMS provider. We do not sell your personal data. We may share data if the law requires it.
5. How long we keep it.
We keep your data while your account is active. After you request deletion, we delete it within 30 days, except what the law requires us to keep.
6. Your rights.
You may ask to access, correct, or delete your data, or withdraw your consent. Use Settings, Delete my account, or contact us above.
7. Security.
We use encrypted connections and restrict access to data. No system is perfectly secure, so please protect your login.
8. Children.
Vauti is for people aged 18 and over.
9. Changes.
If we make important changes, we will tell you in the app. We will also update this policy and ask for your agreement before any payment feature is added.
10. Law.
We handle personal data in line with the Personal Data Protection Act of Tanzania. [Registration details, if applicable]
